Biography:
Akshay Kumar was born on September 9, 1967 in Amritsar, Punjab, India. He was brought up in Chandni Chowk, Delhi and then moved to Mumbai. He has done his schooling from Don Bosco School, Mumbai and graduation from Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Mumbai. When he was young he acquired black belt in Taekwondo and further went to study Muay Thai martial art in Bangkok, Thailand. He has also worked as a waiter and chef there. In 2004, Akshay was awarded Rajiv Gandhi Award for his Bollywood achievements and Honorary Doctrate of Law by University of Windsor, Ontario, Canada in 2008. In 2009, he has received Padma Shri Award from the Government of India.

 Family:
Akshay Kumar was born to Hari Om Bhatia and Aruna Bhatiya. His father was a military officer. He has one sister named Alka Bhatia.

Marriage/Wife:
Akshay got married to Bollywood actress Twinkle Khanna on 17 January 2001. She is the daughter of legendary actors Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia. The couple is blessed with two children son Aarav born on September 15, 2002 and daughter Nitara Kumar, born on September 25, 2012.




Personal life:
Akshay Kumar loves to stay fit and is involved in workout to attain so. He is crazy about cars and even has a long list of brand endorsements. He always keeps his kids close to him and they stand at the highest priority in his life. He even got a tattoo of his son's name on his back.

Akshay got 'Katana' Award - highest Japanese honour and also sixth degree belt in Kuyukai karate. He was one of the 15 recipients among International celebrities who were invited to Canada for Olympics torch-bearer rally.

Career:
Till date Akshay has featured in more than 100 films and received appreciation for his acting skills. In 1994, he has appeared in 11 films. He also played supporting role in Dil To Pagal Hai, co-starring SRK, Madhuri Dixit and Karisma Kapoor, for which he received his first nomination for the Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award. He was seen in all films of "Khiladi series".

In 1999, Kumar played opposite Twinkle Khanna in International Khiladi. He was also seen in Negative Role in some films. 2007 has proved to be Akshay's most successful year with four outright hits and no flops.

Upcoming Movies:
Akshay Kumar will be seen in 2.0 aka Enthiran 2/Robot 2, a sci-fi film directed by Shankar alongwith Rajnikanth and Amy Jackson. Akshay plays scientist Richard who, after an experiment goes wrong, turns crazy and loses his appearance. It will be released on 25 January 2018.

He will also be seen in 'Namastey England' opposite Sonakshi Sinha. He will also be seen opposite Bhumi Pednekar in the film 'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha'. The film is a social commentary on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Swacch Bharat Abhiyaan. 

Latest News:
Akshay Kumar will soon make a come back on television. Earlier, he has hosted shows like 'Khatron Ke Khiladi' and 'Dare 2 Dance'. He will play the role of a Maha Guru in Star Plus upcoming comedy show. The show will have two teams competing against each other. Buzz is that, Krushna Abhishek and Bharti Singh will be the leaders of the teams.

Close pals Salman Khan, Karan Johar and Akshay Kumar are all set to roll out their maiden joint project. Karan and Salman will produce the ambitious film, that's slated to release in 2018, Akshay will star in the same. Akki will also be seen in the upcoming film 'Gold'. It is being directed by Reema Kagti and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar.
